I do not think there is much chance of that.

Best we just ignore the attention seeking I think.

I agree....we all should simply ignore if msg's sound familiar (& you know what I mean by that) until they prove themselves worthy (& you also know what I mean by that as well).

My advice stands , give codes to established members

We have had problems with new members who claim to have spare codes but either fail to deliver or the code is invalid

repeating my earlier advice form the thread

your reputation will be earned not by post count but by your actions

the problem posters we have had in the past continually ask for codes, offer to swap codes but do not valid codes in return , plague everyone in the thread with PM's asking for codes

if you avoid ALL of the above then you will start to fit in

post count means nothing , actions do

Nobody as far as I'm aware (other than MSE staff) is officially aware of what the criteria is for the 'newbie' tag to be dropped.

    WARNING
    WARNING
    W A R N I N G !

    CHECK YOUR ACCOUNT TOTAL

    HAVE YOU LOST POINTS ?

As discussed a few weeks back ...

the EXPIRY DATES on on codes earned under the new scheme (when it went daily and you no longer collected the codes from the Cards actually stuck in the Saturday & Sunday weekend magazines) HAS ARRIVED.

From the FAQs "Mail Points earned before 15 September 2012 are valid for two years after the date of publication. Mail Points earned after 15 September 2012 are valid for one year after the date of publication."

I asked the DM regards the order in which codes would be spent and they confirmed that it would be IN EARLIEST EXPIRY DATE ORDER

So it doesn't matter when you earned them and those about to expire WILL BE USED FIRST.
    NOT TRUE !

I (AND 3 other members of my family) redeemed a £10 voucher last week so as not to lose points that expired from October 5th

My total went down 3900 points

I've just checked it again and I'm 250 points down on what I expected - AS IS EVERYONE ELSE in my family

I think they've STILL REMOVED these (apologies for formatting)

Mail Points Earned / How / Date Entered Bank / Expires
    100 / Unique Number from The Mail / Sun Oct 07 2012 / Sat Oct 05 2013
    150 / Unique Number from The Mail / Sun Oct 07 2012 / Sat Oct 05 2013

Tomorrow I think I'll LOSE ANOTHER 270 points

Mail Points Earned / How / Date Entered Bank / Expires

    10 / Unique Number from The Mail / Sat Oct 13 2012 / Fri Oct 11 2013
    100 / Unique Number from The Mail / Sat Oct 13 2012 / Fri Oct 11 2013
    150 / Unique Number from The Mail / Sun Oct 14 2012 / Fri Oct 11 2013
    10 /Unique Number from The Mail / Wed Oct 17 2012 / Fri Oct 11 2013

Suggest you all check your bank accounts if you've got Oct 2013 expiry dates on some codes and you've attempted to spend these and tried to keep later expiring 2014 codes that were earned earlier - before those that expire sooner.

Looks like the DM have cocked up the programming as to which get used and "removed" when they are spent.

I'll be contacting them immediately to try and get them to sort it out.

Suggest everyone else does the same if they've also "LOST POINTS"

I also contacted them today and although they use them according to their expiry date they have no system in place to delete them when used or identify which have been used. Crazy system.
Guess you could print off the statement and cross them off as you use them but would be far better if their system just had a column to say when used.

    Hi soco1

This does not appear to be the case - Oct 5th points have gone missing

How did you contact them ?
    Using their message system?

I've just phoned them and spoke to someone who now says they GET USED IN THE ORDER THAT THEY GET ENTERED INTO THE BANK ACCOUNT.

Fortunately I did use the message system and the CS girl looked at the actual message that says other wise - from a guy called RYAN

Dear Q Thank you for your message. I can confirm that if you claim a reward, the points that are closest to expiring will be taken from your account. I hope this helps. If you have any further questions you can contact us and we will be more than happy to help. Best regards, Ryan The Mail Rewards Club

I awaiting a call back but she's advised me that I (and other family members) need to redeem 1000's of points TODAY to use up all the ones that need to be redeemed before those that will expire tomorrow if I fail to use them before midnight - in my case 270 points.

    WHAT A SHAMBLES !!!!

I'm hoping that you used the message system because the CS girl was "interested" in seeing other people that had been told the same as myself. If you have it "in print" perhaps you could contact them - I used 0800 7839331 - It is the DM of sorts but not CS and IT'S NOT A REWARD CLUB number but I did get transferred to the right place.

    Cheers
