    Hi chaps

I've been doing quite well recently but didn't manage to get either paper this weekend :(

Any chance anyone has a spare Saturday or Sunday code I can have please?

    Cheers

After a very good run, I missed Saturday's paper and wondered if anyone kindly had a spare code they could pm me, thanks. Getting near my 6800 point target now for a £25 voucher...although I've only just realised I have to get to the next 'banking' point of 7500 points before I can spend 6800! I thought getting to 6800 was enough to get the reward. Anyway, if you do have a Saturday code....thanks in advance.

Does everyone really think this scheme is worth spending the extra money on, if you don't normally buy the papers? I've been collecting from the start and used it to get vouchers for Pizza Express (which seemed to give the best value) for a free 2-course meal. Before the Daily Mail changed the way the Rewards Club works, you needed 7 vouchers.

Maybe some people can tell me if they think it's worth continuing to collect for something else which does actually save some money. I've got 6000 just now. Thanks to anyone who can help. :)

Congrats on being patient enough to bank 4 times :) I was actually forced to stop when taking a holiday under the old system, then it changed and I restarted. Like TM6 a relative sometimes buys the Saturday paper and when I can't get that help then I deliberately use Nectar/Clubcard points/vouchers to offset the cost of the Mail on Sunday - if not the Tesco gift card itself from the last time.

I noticed the cinema changes and the fact that that means waiting until you've got 3000 before you can claim a ticket, though to be fair it would only be another fortnight before you could get a cheaper £5 reward for supermarkets and Robert Dyas.

So as you've said, there are some combinations where the scheme's not worth it anymore eg for Pizza Express, if you think you want to quit then it'll be at the next bank mark and you have to take your choice then.

I was saving for 3 x Pizza Express meals when Gloria told me the other day (as you'll see) that my 6000 doesn't cover them now. It used to be 2000 for each 2-course Pizza Express but I didn't know it had gone up to 2500 for each one so I now need another 1500 which is another 6 weekends at a cost of £6 for Saturday's papers and £9 for Sundays. They changed the system then after it operating for a while, they then moved the goalposts when people were in the middle of saving for an item. Unfair!

It costs 8 x £1 for Saturday's paper = 800 points and 8 x £1.50 for Sunday's paper = 1200 points equalling a total of £20 for 2000 which is used to be for Pizza Express 2-course meal (the meals itself would cost around £9 for a pizza and £4 for a starter so £13) so it wasn't even worth buying the papers for this before they put the amount of points up to 2500. Now it costs £25 to reach 2500!! Why does anyone bother now? Daily Mail have killed their system with their total greed to get people to buy their papers with people thinking they're getting a good deal when they are getting no deal at all. Don't buy the papers, spend £13 on a 2-course meal and you'll still have £12 left over!!

I've worked out that it actually costs £7.50 for a £5 Robert Dyas voucher but it costs you £15 for a £5 Tesco voucher or for any of the other stores £5 vouchers.

So, James, where do you actually think the scheme is worth it now as per your quote "So as you've said, there are some combinations where the scheme's not worth it anymore eg for Pizza Express" just in case I'm working this out wrong or missing something which is good value. I can't actually find anything on the rewards which is worth spending the hard earned points on. I might actually keep them to see what they bring on for Christmas offers but I'm not going to buy any more papers. If I'm working it out correctly then 6000 has cost £60 in Saturday and Sunday papers. I think I kept collecting with the new system and found it difficult to stop at the right point as 1500 didn't get what I wanted and I had to then reach another 1500 before I could bank it. One 2-course meal was 2000 so thought I would keep collecting because I had started, but it's difficult because you have to bank in 1500 groups of points. It's a very devious minded person who has worked out this scheme!

I wish they would go back to the original system as it was much fairer.

PS: Sorry foks, I was on a bit of a roll there lol!!
