... I personally do not think they are going to increase sales of weekday papers by offering 20 points . They should be offering at least 50 to make it worth while.

^ They must have read this, 3010 ;) Today's (Friday 20th) number is worth 75 points! Apparently the bonus points have varied all week - Monday was 50, Tues, Wed & Thurs were 10 (they probably hoped people wouldn't notice the 10 points sandwiched between the bigger ones!).

Doesn't say what it's going to be next week but that'll be the plan - keep people guessing so they'll have to look at the SDMail every day to find out how many points are on offer.

Does everyone really think this scheme is worth spending the extra money on, if you don't normally buy the papers? I've been collecting from the start and used it to get vouchers for Pizza Express (which seemed to give the best value) for a free 2-course meal. Before the Daily Mail changed the way the Rewards Club works, you needed 7 vouchers so as we buy the Daily Mail Mon-Sat we only had the added expense of a Sunday which was 3 times £1.50 so only cost £4.50 for a 2-course meal. Now when they changed it, 2000 points are needed so it takes 8 weekends and 16 papers to reach this. So we now have to buy 8 Mail on Sundays which costs £12.00 so a massive difference compared to £4.50!! I think from memory a pizza ranges from £8-£13 and dessert or starter around £4. Hubby is waiting to go out for the Sunday paper, if I still require it, but I'm just wondering whether to continue with it or not. I've collected enough last weekend for 3 x 2-course meals for our next Edinburgh trip which lets hubby, myself and son have a 'cheap' meal which has actually cost £36 instead of the previous £13.50 previously. Drinks with meal are extra on top of this. You can normally print off half price vouchers for Pizza Express also so I just don't think this is worth the bother of going out every Sunday to get the paper. Does anyone else agree that when they changed the way it operated, that they totally spoiled it? Maybe some people can tell me if they think it's worth continuing to collect for something else which does actually save some money. I've got 6000 just now. Thanks to anyone who can help. :)

Edit: For a cinema ticket it costs 2000 points which are 8 Saturday and Sunday papers so actually costs £12 for the Sunday paper only (if you buy the Saturday one anyway) and this is more than the cinema costs without this scheme.

Just done another working: For a £15 Tesco voucher it costs 4250 points. To get this amount of points we have to buy 17 Sunday papers (assuming you actually buy the Saturday Daily Mail anyway) and the Sunday ones would cost £25.50 and this would get you a £15 Tesco voucher so just doesn't equate. On top of this, if you have to buy the Saturday Daily Mail just to get the points, that would be another £17 so comes to £42.50 for a £15 voucher. I wonder why they changed it so much? Supposed to help them to sell papers but not if there is no real incentive. I may be working this out all wrong and welcome any comments which might make me rethink stopping collecting as, for me, they've killed the scheme.

I keep thinking the same ailey. I buy the Saturday paper anyway but can't bring myself to stop collecting! It was great before they changed it - I think loads of people must have stopped collecting now. It's worth asking here every sunday though as that's what lots of people do (some don't even buy either paper), that way you can still collect and not spend any more!
