Statutory Maternity Pay?

I do payroll for our village Playgroup and we have a member of staff who will be taking maternity leave in a few weeks time. Never had to pay SMP before, so checking what she is entitled to, and she has asked whether she will be paid through the summer holidays.
Our employment contracts are term time only (38 weeks/year), plus 5.6 weeks holiday pay, which is spread over the year. As she is not contracted to work during the 6 weeks holiday period over the summer, would she still get her SMP, or do I only pay her for the weeks she is actually contracted to work, plus any accrued holiday pay?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I know nothing.. but another forum here does: http://www.personneltoday.com/hrspace/forums/maternity-arrangements-for-an-employee-on-a-term-929.aspx
Also this which shows how to calculate Average weekly earnings: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/spmmanual/spm20870.htm0 -
This is a pretty comprehensive guide. p 22 deals with employees who are not paid in a regular pattern.

OU student: A103 , A215 , A316 all done. Currently A230 all leading to an English Literature degree.
Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0
