24.2.07 what small dfw/mse thing have you done/will you do today?

I know it's late in the day, but I searched high and low for this thread and couldn't find it... my day is not complete without posting on here...

Today:

* Didn't spend any money on getting into work and back :j
* Received my cheque for £1700 back from reclaimed bank charges :j :j
* Got bus in from town and not a taxi
* Night in... am knackered and looking forward to my lie-in tomorrow morning

  • Not done very much today DS and DD are ill! I have however opened a parachute account with Abbey and typed up letters to reclaim charges from Halifax. They total just over £1600 so I hope I'll be lucky with it.

Also won £25 on a scratchcard which I purchased with a scratchcard that I found that had a £1 win on it. Someone obviously couldn't be bothered to claim the £1.

I haven't been out of the house today, so spent no money until... I got a takeaway this evening with my housemates. Feel free to slap my wrists!

  • -Had an NSD
-Sent two letters 2nd class instead of first and put the difference (26p) in piggy bank.
    - Paid £7 assorted change into my new A&L bank account - first time I've had a positive balance in years :) Of course when everything gets transferred across that won't last .. but for now I'm smiling!

  • Hey hypno - how come you didn't start the thread?!!!!

Great news about bank charges I agree. And it has come at just the right time. I was off sick for the whole of jan following a car crash and will be paid full sick pay for all but one week at SSP and have had a big leccy bill come in.

I intend to go away with some mates for one of those dodgy themed weekends at butlins and get a new tv for my bedroom and the rest is going on debts, which I think is ok!

Funny thing is, the lawyers sent me the cheque dated 2/2/07 and a letter dated 27/02/07. The letter requested that I sign and return saying I will not tell anyone of the offer and settlement and return it to them and they will then issue the cheque!!! The seem to have got it the wrong way round. Also said in the letter that Natwest would consider closing my account if I went down the small claims route again. But I closed the account about 3 years ago - seem to be a bit slow!!!

Sadly, there was no time to bank the cheque today but will do on Monday.
