Joint Application or Single Application?

My husband is self employee, only started two years ago and have one tax return so far (income is not much on the tax return anyway). Santander said that his salary may not be considered when we put through the application. As far as we understand, he wouldn't be able to help much for this mortgage application. We are considering a single application on my own. Which one would be better, joint or single application? Thanks.

You can still have it in joint names just not taking his income into account0

Thanks, Andy. If his situation doesn't help mortgage anyway, what is the point of putting him in debt? Therfore, we are thinking of having both names regitered on the property and myself's name on mortgage. Is this possible?0 -
No is the answer. As the names on the mortgage need to mirror the deeds in this instance.
The reason for this is that the lender would be unable to sell the property without your permission in the event of default.0
