cheapest sultanas please- lots of them

My elderly pigs have now got used to a heated breakfast of baked beans and sultanas, in wich I can put lots of turmeric, which works wonders on their arthritis.
Problem is, I'm really struggling to find the cheapest sultanas that I can get. Lidl works out more expensive than own brands.
I live in a rural area so no markets etc.
Any ideas please.
ps cant use raisins because I wont have them in the house because they are poisonous to dogs.
They have about 200g a day between the 2 of them, with 2 tins of baked beans- tastes really nice cooked- until you add a heaped dessert spoon of turmeric- yeuch! (but they like it)

Tes&co Value 500 grm are 84p, but I guess you would need more than a few bags. Perhaps a wholesale cash and carry would be best for buying in bulk.

Sultanas are poisonous to dogs too.
- Raisins are dried white grapes.
- Sultanas are dried white seedless grapes.
- Currants are dried black seedless grapes.
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
Cheaper than Sainsbury's value and Lidl's sultanas (£1.06 for 500g). Only commenting because I was scouring around for these yesterday - decided to go w/o in the end.Tes&co Value 500 grm are 84p, but I guess you would need more than a few bags. Oh My Giddy Aunt- just looked it up and you are right. I thought it was just the raisins +grapes that could kill dogs- I am now very glad I did my original post because after having banned raisins, I was quite blase about sultanas- THANKYOUkitschkitty wrote: »Sultanas are poisonous to dogs too.- Raisins are dried white grapes.

I'm not sure that they do a cheap one. I was looking for some yesterday and they didn't have any (no place for any) just raisins and mixed fruit in their own brand - of course it could just be my store that doesn't stock them. I ended up buying the Tesco value ones at 84p for 500g but they are not as juicy as the Aldi ones that I normally get - but as they are cheaper I thought I would try them. Think Aldi ones are 85p for 400g.0 -
Tesco's value and ASDA's smartprice sultanas appear the cheapset at 16.8p/100g, unless Morrisons are cheaper that is.
The ones posted by Edwardia appear a little pricey though.
800g Fudco golden sultana’s £4.49 or 56.13p/100g
1kg TRS golden sultanas £6.45 or 64.5p/100g
500g Country Products organic sultanas £2.86 or 57.2p/100g
1kg golden sultanas £6.80 or 68p/100g
250g TRS golden sultanas £1.29 or 51.6p/100g
And does it matter if they are juicy or not? Will your pigs notice the difference? I guess it’s the sweetness of the sultanas they are after and not the fact that they are juicy. Mind you, I don't have pigs so who am I to argue?

Surely you could soak them in water to plump them up - just a portion at a time - then even the cheapest would be juicy.0

I soak them in Cointreau before I use in desserts, deliciousSurely you could soak them in water to plump them up
