Newbie looking to be debt free and more money-aware

Good Evening all,
I'm a newbie here. I've got a relatively small debt of approximately £1500. I'm look to get this paid off in the next 6 months or so; especially since I'm about to move into a flat (rented) with my partner.
I am employed 3 days a week by the council and for the rest of the time I'm self employed.
The largest chunk of the debt is what is left over from my student debt in the form of a Bank of Scotland overdraft. I'm fairly lucky in that I should be able to pay off the OD by the end of next month as I have a fairly large cheque coming through. That said I still have a small debt (less than £500) on my credit card; which should be easy to pay off by September/November.
So in short... by December 2012 I want to be debt free!
Cheers

Good luck at becoming debt free. Try keeping a spending.diary to see what you spend your money on. Those little purchases add up and you could be throwing that money to clearing your debt sooner. L2B.xLBM 2008 [STRIKE]£45,091.23[/STRIKE] eek: now £7889:T Debt free date 18/07/2018

Thank you for the welcome and the advice!
A spending diary sounds like a good idea.
In a month or two, once I've got everything sorted with the flat, I'd love to take part in the NSD challenge!0
