Ok Ok. I'll mimic the troll's methodology of argument instead.its an 18% increase in one go ....
maybe the figures are too complicated for you?
Actually, I think you'll find that it's over 19%. Maybe the figures are too complicated for you?
Looks like I don't need the argumentum ad verecundiam, when the figures speak for themselves0 -
I'm still trying to see an "Extortionate" price rise here - yes in percentage terms its a fair amount compared to inflation(lol) but its pennies were talking about here. Extortionate would have been charging £3.99+ suddenly no?
As another poster mentioned, they've probably been keeping under the 1 quid mark for quite a while despite all prices creeping up and at some point they have to pass along the cost to the customer.
It's not worth them printing 19 different point of sale labels to increase at a reasonable 1p per week!
lol!!

Spend the £1.19 on a bit of veg instead, much better for you
. That's what I'd do, honest! :A

I have a degree in maths, statistics and economics, and work in the Treasury department of a major financial institution.
Wind your neck back in.
your reply fitted my pigeon hole of you perfectly
you have no idea what most people on here are going through with either losing their jobs or inflation running away from their wages
i knew this when i answered you but you fell into my honey trap (gone up 14 pence at asda by the way)
i guess you let the little woman do all your shopping if truths known
forgot to add you also probably also believe that Inflation in the UK continued to fall in February, thanks largely to lower fuel bills, with the Consumer Prices Index falling to 3.4%, a 15-month low0 -
If you're struggling that much with money I'd suggest buying only the most nutritious foods.
The item in question is a chocolate trifle I believe - not very nutritious and indeed could be classed as a luxury item. If you must have your fix of sugary gunk perhaps switch to the supermarket's own brand?0 -
The early post hit the nail on the head but slipped through.
In order to show a "price cut" they ramp up the prices for a short period of time then reduce it again with all the hype of "cutting prices again".0
