How to create a forum

Does anybody reccommend any software where I can create a forum for around 15 mates who want to keep in touch and leave messages. I already have a webspace if thats required, Thanx

There are lots of free boards available. It depends on what features you have available with your hosting provider.

If you do have php and SQL then go for invision, even i managed to set one of those up without any trouble..

Can even get add on arcade games for it..

The best forum I have used has to be Ikonboard. Unlike most others though it is a Perl based forum. They also do free forum hosting at myikonboard

Before installing a forum check the T&C of your webhost as some do not allow some types of forum software on their servers. For instance, while looking for a new host myself last month I found one that bans use of all versions of YaBB (the software this forum uses).

Forumotion.com is awesome. vBulletin is close, and Proboards sucks. The other clients I have never seen and known what I was looking at.
