I'd already approached an advisor who did a joint application to Kensington. Passed AIP but then failed the full application because I'd used payday loans over the last year (always paid on time, but suggested I was living beyond my means). In short, it's been an uphill battle to get back on track since my disaster in 2008/9. We're just at the point now though of having 3/4k disposable income per month between us and that's what makes being declined a mortgage costing 1k per month quite upsetting!

I'm relaxed about having no rights to the house, wifey is solid and it's only for a couple of years until my credit goes clear. Her portion of the dividends and salary for the past 3 years is 35k, 52k and 57k respectively and I really thought it'd be the way to go because she hasn't used payday loans and has just one settled default from 2008 (which was my fault - a joint loan which had 7k remaining at the time).
