I sent these guys my income and expenditure which CCCS drew up, it shows I can only pay £1 a month token payment at the moment as I am on JSA but still these $hits phone annoying me looking £21 a month, where do they expect me to get this money from? They say that they are going to keep applying charges of £24 a month until I pay so I can see this turning into quite a serious issue. I have to laugh at there letters "We are here to help" help my !!!!!. Can they not just default the account and send it to a collection agency, has anyone else had issues with these guys.

  • First of all, it doesn't help by referring to the people you owe money to as '$hits'.

You are the one that is in the wrong by not paying back the money you owe to the company. It's not the other way round.

If you can only afford £1 per month then write to them recorded delivery saying you cannot afford more, and you will not enter into any further conversation with them either by phone or personal call. Tell them that if they want more, then they should take the case to court and you will put your income and expenditure accounts before the judge for him to decide.

Sorry yes I may be in the wrong but my patience has wore thin with them phoning twice a day, I mean they have the details there, it has been verified by CCCS but still the penny doesn't drop that perhaps this guy has no money. I could lie to them if thats what they want, I could say I'll send them a cheque to clear the balance if thats what they want.

I would if l was you get couple of £1 postal orders, because Jdwilliams work on a 28 day, so if you are sending the £1, it misses the statement allowing working time, etc. To reach the payment department.. This why you maybe incurring the charges.. I would also tell them to speak to cccs, people who handling your debts. Is it gone to reliable collections their in-house debt department.. Well they will ring you any time, if you can record their messages because they back track on what they promise.. Your word against theirs sort of thingy, they will be always right (when clearly they are wrong) Also if they ring up, tell them cccs is handling it, tell them you will report them to Oft for harassment.. You deal with them through writing.. good luck with this problem..

Maybe they could but that would probably mean giving up the chance of them getting the money you owe them - i.e. selling on the debt for a fraction of the full amount, so maybe they think they still have a chance of getting full payment eventually.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

    These lot are a nightmare.

We had to involve the police with them for my friend's Mum and they had to write off the debt after their harrassment caused her to have a heart attack. (90 calls in a week and a half and they even started ringing her 14 year old granddaughter)

I'm now fighting my own battle with them after they got in touch with my bank to get my work number and blocked the lines of a hospital ward preventing calling for medical help for a seriously ill patient. They are very sheepish about that though and so far have had effusive apologies and someone 'very senior' is dealing...

Best of luck. You'll need it...

Ok thought I would update this again, Following the advice on here I sent my letter of recorded delivery with a financial statement etc calls stopped for a week and now back in full force again, 8.05am this morning I got called so I answered it, Oh we haven't received your financial statement even though it was signed for, Now I never told them I was dealing with CCCS and it was CCCS who did out my financial statement, they said Oh your dealing with CCCS so without having my financial statement how would they know this? Don't know what to do here, they call 3-4 times per day. I am being fair in that I am paying all I can, can I go down that original credit agreement route?

    HI All,

Just a quick question. I am part of a DMP. When this is changed every now and agin (i.e a creditor payed off) JD Williams are adding £100 to my balance for changing the payment - even though they are getting more than they where... Are they allowed to do this? Is there anything I can do. I'm in more debt with this company than I was when I started.

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Cheers

I battled with these people for over 2 years. I finally paid them off last year and it was as if a great weight had been lifted.
They will phone you constantly, disreagard letters saying that you will only communicate in writing, send you other peoples details:eek:and the list goes on.
I finally resorted to reporting them to the Financial Ombudsmen and got a full and funancial settlement figure.
Pay them the token amounts that CCCS have advised, don't answer the phone, don't answer their security questions, send the letter about communicating by phone etc. Also look at other threads on here relating to Reliable Collections.
