farm shops

in N. Ireland
On other forum people are speaking of going to farm shops for their meat as it is cheaper. can anyone recommend any around Bangor, newtownards etc. I know there is prim££y and the one in Craigantlet(sp) but to me they are quite expensive. any ideas

MIL gets meat from McDowells all the time. She gets the freezer packs (frozen) of lamb cutlets and steak.

The's a couple around the area,one is just before you come to Four Road Ends junction of the Upper N/Ards Road, on the way to Corries,on the left before the model railway site (can't remember the name)0

Most are just shops that are on farms and dont sell anything from the farm, just from the cash and carry and veg wholesale market, must be the "it came from the farm " factor so it must be better.

Corries & the one I mentioned are farm shops that butcher their own animals,prices for meat is good but stuff like pies & the like are bought in & quite expensive in most cases.0 -
Angus Farm Shop in Greyabbey is a farm shop and they butcher their own livestock and is always a good price, well worth a visit :j
