but is the model any good?

The major problem with it is that it doesn't have a digital (Freeview) tuner, which not only means you lose out on the extra channels, but you also lose the great convenience of navigating to a programme in the guide and programming it to record with one button - something you don't get if you hook it up to a Freeview receiver. Of course, if you are not in a Freeview area, or you'll simply be connecting it to a satellite or cable receiver, then this is no loss.
