CCA Request not complied with?

Dear all,

I really hope you can help me with a problem concerning a collection agency. I have a disputed debt and a while ago I requested a true signed copy of a CCA.

The collection agency replied and acknowledged the request, but failed to return a CCA to me. I waited the statutory amount of time and sent off another letter asking them to stop pursuing me without a CCA.

They have asked me to contact the bank the alleged debt was originally with. Do I have to do this? Aren't they meant to get this themselves or have one already?

I'm really confused now and the stress isn't helping! Any guidance would be most kindly appreciated! What do I do next?

If they are pursuing you for the money then you have disputed this with them - I dont think you have to contact the original creditor.

I did this a couple of years ago with two creditors and I put both accounts into dispute (prob with the letters you are using). After that I didnt contact any other company or correspond at all re those debts.
