So I had an interview the Wednesday just gone and it was advertised as 4 position. We have a basic lit & maths test and then interview. There were 25-30 people before the tests and only 9 after.
Interview was nice and simple, I knew all the answers etc and we were told there was 7 positions over 3 wards and we'd be told either way by the end of that day or the next. I didn't hear anything so contacted then on Friday (yesterday), got told that I scored well but they only had 5 positions and I didn't get a place on two of the wards. Told I was a strong candidate and they are hoping to get signed off for two positions on the 3rd ward, if so I would be offered a position. They are taking up my references now.
Is this a good sign? Could I be waiting for ages or maybe never get a place?
EDIT: 'How long is a piece of string' is prob the answer

Yeah I think your edit sums it up pretty well.
I would take it as a very good sign though. Obviously they like you and as you said your self you interviewed well.
I'm going to guess that it was a hospital that you applied for so especially in the current economic climate it can bE hard to get reqestions signed off.
I'm guessing that they are just trying to get these done and then they will hopefully will tell you when to start.
Best of luck though and let us know how you get on.0
