Hello everyone, this is my first post, though I have viewed forum topics for a while.
My wife and I are in our thirties, both in full time employment (combined salary of £50k), and renting our house.
We want to buy a property.
We have no outstanding debt and a £30k budget for deposit etc.
Can anyone give me some general advice on the best course of action?
Neither of us are financially savvy,:o so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Go an see a mortgage broker?
You could potentially get a mortgage of around £200k. That means a property upto around £210-220k and give you money left over for fees.
Those are maximums, but it gives an idea.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I agree, get a broker- ours was an absolute diamond and guided us through the FTB mine field without a hitch!0

What sort of price were you thinking of for the purchase? A 15% deposit can mean much better rates than a 10% deposit.
If you are not confident with the proces then you should definitely consider using a broker.
Speak to your bank and see what they may offer. It will give you somthing to compare against if nothing elseI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
