After working various warehouse jobs and other manual unskilled work, I really want to get myself into a trade so to speak before i get too old.. well im 26 now and I feel old lol. I was thinking plumbing, engineer, gas, electric all that stuff.. I'm not sure which one I would be suited too really. I just want a better future really, I am starting to save money now for a course in whichever path i choose. Does anyone have any ideas if theres any shortages in certain areas, course costs and which areas are easier to get into that others, etc any information that can help me would be greatly appreciated...
Cheers, Scott.

is there any local colleges where you could learn the basics of a trade then decide which you would like to do. Some handymen jobs are a bit different, many trades are oversubscribed and to be able to train up you'd probably need to be time served so need a modern apprehentiship:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

There are predicted skills gap in the oil and gas industries and the hospitality industry (chefs). The railways (maintenance not service) and renewable energy industry are receiving a lot of investment so also may present future opportunties. Getting a training post is quite difficult. You need to persevere0

Get yourself to college and see what's on offer, don't pay thousands for a course from a trade training provider they're a rip off.
Search for electricians plumbing etc forums and you'll find all the info there.0 -
