Hi All,
doing own dmp but having following problems with Argos. Can anyone help
1. Notified Argos in December that we are seeking help re; debt. They did not feeze interest
2. Jan they agreed to reduce interest but they did not do this until March
3. Charged late payment fee for feb
4. Not replying to my letters.
5. Reduced interest is not low enough as paying £20 per month but interest is £14.
6. Home Retail Group have not subscribed to the Lending Code.
Where do I go from here???

You can ask them to reconsider freezing interest & charges - but ultimately they don't have to if they decide they won't.
(national debtline has a pretty good template for asking them to reconsider if you haven't seen it yet).
Aside from that you might have to accept it in the short term and hope that they pass the debt on to a debt collector fairly soon who might then agree to freeze interest.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks for your reply but I have already done that but they have not responded. I suppose what I really need is for someone to point out the relevant bits in the lending code and the oft guidance on debt. Also I applied for this store card pre 2007 should I be asking for a copy of that agreement and if so how would this help me. Sorry to sound so dumb but can only get on laptop late evening and I am brain dead by then!!!!!0
