Help! Credit Check Info - RBS Pre Employment

Hi Folks,

Looking for some advice, I recently got offered a role with RBS, as part of the pre-employment screening (PES) they run a credit check which you either pass or fail.

Unfortunately I failed, on checking Experian and Equifax it was because I have the same name as my father and being linked to his current address (my previous) my credit score was pulling back information for both him and me. I raised a query to have this info aligned on their databases but having went through the PES again it returned the same outcome.

I'm at a complete loss as to why, my credit score is good on these websites and have no underlying reason to fail. Is there other databases that need to be updated? Any help or recommendations would be appreciated.

  • Hi,

I have got the same problem. Got rejected today due to pre-employment screening. I think its to do with address and name on your identity and address proof !

I have never been rejected before and I cannot see anything wrong with my report.

Please let me know if you managed to find out a new job and the reason why you were rejected.

    Cheers

If you can see there are errors on your CRA reports then you need to go through the CRAs process of correcting the errors to separate your history from your fathers. It will take a couple of months to do TBH
  • Hi mate,

Thanks for coming back to me.

My father resides in a different country and has never been to UK. What is CRA error reports?

My credit report shows absolutely nothing against me which should stop me from getting selected for the job.

RBS is not willing to tell me why they have rejected me!

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

The credit check is usually just to see if you have anything like CCJs etc.
