Party bags for baby siblings yes/no?

I was looking for some advise please, am I committing social faux pax by NOT providing party bags for baby (6months ish) siblings coming to a party? I think that I will not provide them anyway :o but not sure if this will cause a mention or two,,,

TIA

I have done them for babies, but I am a bit soft like that :o lol. You don't have to spend a lot, I included cake, milky buttons, balloon, bubbles.

Last year when my daughter had a party I had a few close friends who had babies also aged 6mths so I made up a party bag for them only cause they were kids of close friends - they got a rubber duck in a party bag from instore I think whilst all the rest of the older kids got the usual in the party bags.

  • Generally the etiquette is that only the named invited child gets the party bag; some of us softies would do a toddler sibling a bag too ;) but I've found that I've got more merciless about it as the children get older! Now that mine have parties where the friends get dropped off, rather than parents staying, it's easier to not-invite a younger sibling, thus removing the need for extra party bags.

The bonus learning experience is when one child has been to a party and the other is begging them to share party bag goodies- they have to learn bargaining and diplomatic skills, compromise and sharing :rotfl:

I wouldn't expect a party bag for my baby at 6 months. She wouldn't be eating cake and chocolate by then as most would only have just started to be weaned. The rubber duck is a lovely idea though.
