Hi guys,
This is my first time posting here but was just after a bit of advice. Here's our situation:
I was made bankrupt back in 2007 and was subjected to a bru which ends in October this year. Me and my partner have been living together for the last 4 years and up until now have been renting a house from her Dad. He's now decided to sell as he no longer sees the benefit of having 2 properties but has given us first refusal. The house is worth £95,000 and has been offered to us for £85,000
I know I can't get a mortgage due to my bankruptcy but was wondering if anyone could advise us if it's worth going to a morgage adviser and seeing if my partner can get an £85k mortgage (she's a pharmacy assistant and earns £900 per month, but also has my wage going into her bank every month. She has no debt apart from £200 a month for her car).
I just want to know if we'd be wasting a mortgage brokers time of if there's a chance she'd be able to get a mortgage.
Apologies for the wall of text.
Regards
Lee

Its never good to say you would be wasting their time as id never see it like that...but you would in a sense yes as i doubt very she would get a mortgage on her own.
Whats your credit file like now? It might not be impossible for you to get a mortgage.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thanks for the reply
I haven't actually checked my credit file since I went bankrupt, didn't think it'd be worth it until my BRU was up....
I'll check it out and see what it's like but I think the fact that I'm self employed (on a long term contract with regular money coming in every week fr the last 2 years).
Maybe we'd be able to get a joint mortgage....?0 -
What deposit do you have?
What is her gross annual salary?
What net profit have you declared for the last three years?
You mention you were bankrupted in 2007. Can you explain a "BRU" which won't end until October 2012?I am a mortgage broker.
