Damage limitation on hp

Hi hope someone has a bit of advice, my son 18 was talked into buying a near new car for 10K in December he was working at the time but still could not afford the costs i.e. finance insurance petrol , he was 18 and stupid, anyway he obviously would not listen to me and signed a hp agreement, he later tried to get out of it , but the garage manager who sold him the car told him it was too late although he had not received the car and only signed the previous day. He now has no job no money and has not made a payment to the finance co . obviously he is in big trouble, but is there anything he can do to limit the damage.
Any help on this,

Go to the CAB for legal advice. I am not sure that if he signed a legally binding contract on their premises whether he gets any cooling off period.
This would be crucial to whether he could walk away from the agreement.0 -
stevie_show. We were all 18 too; thinking we knew everything. I hope that he learns from this. ... my sympathies. CAB is called 'Law for All' in some councils, they should be able to advise you on your son's status re: the loan. However, you should be mindful of not getting drawn into the debt. I don't mean: 'leave your son to face the music', I mean: do not allow the car dealer to blackmail your son by maintaining the stance: 'your parent can pay for you'. The loan is in your son's name.0
