I'm not sure what I'm getting! Yesterday (Saturday) my Owl monitor said 21.5kwh, but since the "Since Install" figure seems to be 8.5% under the Gen meter reading I'm not sure what to think...

I'd also like to know the impact of pigeon s**t on panels. They perch on my TV aerial, which is a source of some distress as I don't even own a TV..! Obviously an air rifle knocking them off is not a sensible option, and nor is a micro-inverter for that little corner....
Mind you, I hope to get a wood burner installed this summer, so I'll ask the chimney liner installers to take the thing down.

Only generation meter readings matter. Power monitors and inverter readings are just approximate.

They'll still perch on the roof without the aerial. If the inverter total capacity is less than the sum of the panels doubt it will make a lot of difference

I've tweaked my voltage setting on my Owl monitor. I was quite a bit down, compared to generation meter.

It still runs a little under, but is now within approx 3%, which is a better estimate.

Thanks, I did realise that but it would have spoiled the joke, plus I don't do daily reads of my gen meter!

Yep, but then the guano will drop on the ridge and next row of tiles, unless they start jettisoning their load on short finals: as it is they have a convenient and comfortable perch pointing at the BBC transmitter on the IOW.

Oh, thanks for that, and I'll have to look in to it What is "quite a bit down"? As I say, mine is 8.5% which is reasonably significant.

The other thing is, is that I have an iboost, and if I look at the figures more or less contemporaneously I see the Owl Intuition registering more power usage than it says I'm ostensibly generating, yet when I look at the iboost it's adjusting the draw by the second.

Either way, as I'm only importing about a kwh a day at the moment I'm not too worried.

Since install (10/3/14) I have generated 750 according to gen meter...the Owl registers only 675.

I read on another site about increasing it gradually. I started at 230, and I'm now up to about 250. Just do a few volts every few days or so until you get it to a level of accuracy you are happy with.

You will notice that each time you do it, you may get an overnight reading showing of a few watts, but this disappears the next day.

I think it also makes the usage figure a bit more accurate as well.

    21.4 kWh.

Wasn't expecting that much, considering a blanket of cloud came over at mid-day and didn't shift all afternoon.
