Sun all day but also clouds all day to keep lowering production. The cold wind meant it was a good day.

I too think E/W has a lot going for it, the biggest single factor, I think, for domestic installs, is that it typically allows you to use two roofs (E + W), rather than just the one (S), so that helps a lot. Before adding 2.12kWp S facing a couple of years ago, my 2011/2012 E/W system was generating about 800kWh/kWp. Worst was 750kWh, and best was 866kWh. Ironically, I don't expect this to improve, as the south facing panels are shaded before SE and after SW, but of course, that doesn't matter in the poorer months.

The steep pitched south facing solar ground mount roofed ladder store, was to make up for the poor winter gen. Also helps with mid-day gen, but that can largely be resolved with batts now, as costs improve.

Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 28kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.
