A third day of similar performance. This time 2 hours of mainly sun from 13:30, the rest of the day was cloudy.

Back in the game!
Decided to change the inverter on the ESE system, so I can get a DC side batt, and also add more panels. Sounded good, and also take the opportunity to get the installers to swop out a power optimiser that failed in January, and (weirdly) two that failed in May.
Inverter swap went well, but couldn't pair at all. So dead system. Also, the guys were absolutely brilliant, but explained they can't operate from ladders nor harnesses anymore (legal/insurance reasons), so would need scaffolding. And with a low roof underneath, was going to be expensive, maybe £550 plus a days work for fault finding and PO swopping.
Got pee'd off, so popped to local height safety gear shop, and got a harness, lanyard, and some heavy duty strapping to help create a good (and variable) anchor point in loft. Then with Wifey to pass tools, and offer moral support, I went out the Velux, and did it myself. Swopped 3 PO's, but one was a pig, being under the panel above it, so had to lay face down on the panel, stretching to reach the clips, and undo them, before lifting panel, so I could climb down the mounting rails and get to the PO for the panel below.
Once I put the DC back on, and told the company, they tried another initialisation on the new inverter and it paired up.*
Two morals to the story, firstly, that spending about £30 on equipment I can use for years, is better than ~£800 on labour and scaffolding. Secondly, I really need to lose about 10kg, before ever trying this again.
*Whilst Solaredge is designed to lose panels and PO's, I wonder if trying to complete an initial pairing/start up is messed up, if there are PO's down, and not responding ..... not really sure(?)
One small issue though, is that with a batt on the DC side, my daily generation numbers are now nonsense. The gen might go into the batt, lowering the day's figure, or I may discharge energy from the day before, raising the figure. But overall it balances out.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

5.85 O's yesterday, still cool enough temperatures not to knock down generation much. Next few days looking warmer.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

2.6 O's today breaking our seven day run of returns above average. Nevermind looks like a few potential Maidens ahead!Edit. Hats off Mart for resourcefulness, bravery and endeavour.I guess with an £800 incentive, it's amazing what can be conjured up as a possible alternative.
