Sorry, couldn't resist having a look, so went to PVGIS and popped a few random pins around Nashville, Tennessee, and looks like they get about 1,350kWh to 1,400kWh per kWp pa.SuzeQStan said:2.5 x O - exported all of it as we are visiting with family in sunny Tennessee. Just had a little laugh about the difference in our predicted generation compared to what it would be in TN. Might have had another convert but energy prices don’t seem to have done anything drastic like ours in UK so not a lot of incentive.Lancashire

And it only gets better in the US, with south facing gen of around 1,500kWh+/kWp as you get into the southern states like Texas and Florida, and even 1,800kWh+/kWp in California.SuzeQStan said:

I would suggest that only Alaska has less generation than the UK, as far as US states go, but every time I say that on a forum, someone from Washington (state), usually Seattle, will tell me how poor the NW of that state is, but often tongue-in-cheek.
But the US has ridiculously high PV install costs for demand side / roof mounted PV, due to high permitting and marketing costs. Often around 2x the UK cost, and 3x the Australian cost. Such a shame, as the US has good gen, many large roof single storey buildings, higher than average energy consumption and disposable income.
