Well, I saw a Polar Bear today in the garden.
Obviously ‘Global Warming’ is not apparent in the UK at the moment; just another reason for an extra Tax.
A measly 4.8 today with the highest peak being 819 watts; dishes are piling up! C’mon Osborne, roll up your sleeves, were in it together ! :rotfl: Even more merer merer than Eric's 5.4 of yesterday.:)

    Thank you Mart:beer:

Only a 6 here, though the TGM went up 7 (must have been an extra 1 hiding from yesterday!).

Weather forecast lousy till late morning on Monday, so had to bite the bullet and put the dishwasher on, with only 700W to 900W. Not fair, average import already 3kWh/day. Disastrous!!!!!!!

Now sitting here playing some more with Sunny Design. Really should get a life, or at the very least, go and watch some Family Guy, probably more constructive than what I'm doing. :rotfl:

Whereas we picked up a little - 7.39Kwh on the day and a couple of peaks around 1.6Kw. Still disappointing - but probably not quite so disappointing as tomorrow will be !

Back to E7 for dishwasher tonight.

    Car Insurance Carver!
9.6kWh and 9.7kWh in past two days in cider country.

Heavens opened in the evening yesterday at last to give the panels a good wash (first proper rain for about 3 weeks). Good for the gardens and water butts (200litre butt back up to about 1/4 full), bad for the BBQ finale to our street's Jubilee bash. At least the sun shone most of the day and the bouncy castle was powered by clean electricity.

NOT a good generation day today ! Just 3.2Kwh so far; admittedly we're still generating but only at 200w But even that was more than I need to pass my 'better than ISA' test.

However, wearing my other hat it's been a great day for rainwater collection ! 1.6 cu M from the house roof and another 0.4 cu M from the garden sheds. Look forward to flushing lavatories without help from STW for at least the next six weeks.

Well, what can one say? At least Eric has saved on his water bill and any sewage charges for six weeks on his loo :). I managed a massive 2.2kWh, currently doing 240W so hardly worth waiting for 21:10 ish sunset time. On the bright side the temperature was the same in direct sunlight at a high of 9.4 C, kept the panels cool to give them a boost! Highest peak today was 553W. On the good side, I gained an extra 0.1% towards my PVGIS which takes me to - currently 56.2%. :T:rotfl:

This may be worth a check out http://daventryweather.co.uk/index.htm
Although it is local to me, info available is top brass; especially the 'dials and gauges' page. :D Similar may be available in your areas.

Found this local weather station map of private stations some have good gadgets etc http://www.weatherstations.co.uk/aws_map.htm

We don't have 'sewage charges' so today's delivery is only worth £3 - but even that is much the same as the cost of 6Kwh. Every little helps !

Is it possible that a 2.5 kW system can peak higher than 2.5?

Hiya Oscar, welcome to the wacky stuff!

    I've seen my 2.4 system on a 2.5 inverter, hit 2.6!

The short lived highs are usually when the sun is well positioned but a cloud blocks it, then when the panels are nice and cool, out pops the sun.

Panel performance drops off as they get hotter, and nice direct sun makes the panels .... well ..... hot. So such peaks are usually short lived and don't show up on data logs if they average over a few minutes.

Back in May, the still days were giving me sustained levels of 2.5 from a 3.6 system. The slightly windier days were more like 2.9 thanks to the extra cooling.

April and October can give particularly 'interesting' numbers, when the sun pops out when there are clear skies and lower ambient temps.

    What did you see?
