One big advantage of the system. The storm has disabused me of my perspex roof covering to the side area of my house but mercifully not harmed my panels.
London. 6.4kwh system, South facing. 16 Hyundai 400kw all black panels w/ optimisers, 6kw Solaredge HD Wave inverter, Solar Iboost with two immersion heaters on one 240l hw tank. Octopus Flux. Ivar 5 Wood Burning Stove. Leaf 62kwh plus Zappi. Two chickens: 1 Light Sussex, 1 Speckled Rock. Omlet walk-in run. Approx 1.5 eggs per day egg generation rate using Marriage's organic layers pellets.4 -
It's so many years ago now and I think it was on MSE, but a forum member mentioned that in a storm part of their neighbours shed had flown up and smashed a PV panel. I think that's actually good news, since to break a panel takes a good hard hit, so without the panels there's a chance that slates/tiles would have broken and led to water intrusion during the storm, or even further damage once wind can get in a hole and behind the roofing material.NoobSolar said:One big advantage of the system. So far all our panels are still in place, though the wheelie bins keep making a bid for freedom. And despite the poor weather, generation has just about covered the air-to-air heat pump throughout.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

2.1 O's here, thankfully, despite the best efforts of Eunice, all our panels remain fixed in place, a near neighbour was not so lucky. As for our greenhouse.... RIP, replacement glass costs are not a lot less than buying a new greenhouse
