You can try, but I think it is very unlikely that they will accept anything other than the current reading.Not sure why the previous owner didnt register for FIT but when I do so, what ‘starting’ meter read should I give?

I have moved home into a property with a small Solar PV installation (1kW) bit that appears not to have been previously registered for FIT. The house was new builld April 2016 with an MCS dated April 2016 (after cut off). I have bought the house and the panels are a part of the property and therefore owned outright. Not sure why the previous owner didnt register for FIT but when I do so, what ‘starting’ meter read should I give? The ‘current’ reading or the commissioned meter read as of April 2016?

KevG may be right. But it may be worth being totally honest, explaining the situation and giving the two readings. After all, you are now the owner of the property; see what they come back with. Incidentally who are you applying for FIT with?....Back to the Office:...A poor day with only 0.52 O's...You can try, but I think it is very unlikely that they will accept anything other than the current reading.

Bonzer! Despite a lull between noon and 1:30pm I still came out with 1.1 O and 138% of daily PVGIS target! :T17 x 300W panels (5.1kW) on a 3.68kW SolarEdge system in Sunny Sheffield.

Today, 0.118 O's so barely daylight! Never mind, where I parked the EV today discharged free leccy, so an 8kWh's top up, swings and roundabouts I guess!:)That's great for January.
