Poor day yday ending up with 2.2 O`s. Although been averaging 4 O`s per day for September so far.

On another note my daily electricity import has more than doubled at some point over the last 14 days.... !!!!!!!
My first port of call will be my `iBoost style` device :o

Morning guys, hoping for a wee bit of help here!
The red LED on my electric meter appears to be blinking every 3 to 4 secs (importing over 1000w?)
I started wondering about the house turning off various devices last night, still no change. I then tried turning each circuit breaker off one by one, no change.
Finally I tried switching off the main fuse box....still the meter flashes, surely this isn`t right? Faulty meter?
    TIA.
3.975 kWp System, South facing, 21 degree pitch, 15 x Canadian Solar Elps, Samil Inverter, location NE Scotland (Fraserburgh) Bring on the Sun

Your theory sounds right, and hard to argue with a main fuse switch off. Daft question but is there any other supply also running off the mains, like a small garage CU?

Does it stop flashing and show solid red if you are generating enough to export?

Is the meter clocking up these flashes with around one extra unit every hour?

Report it asap and compare import to previous years. Make sure that low summer demand is noted due to PV, and not a more average national figure, if estimations are needed.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

Morning Mart, no there`s no other supplies from the mains.
Yes it still shows solid red when exporting.
Yup the meter is rapidly clocking up!

Good point on the estimations, thanks!

  • Very poor day today...2.08 O's.....coffee.gif
2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax: B)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

Well ......... at 10am we were generating 3.5kW, so I popped on the sunnies and took the dog for a walk.

Got back an hour later and dried us both off from all the rain.

Total generation for the day 4.3kWh! :(

You live in Wales so are you really surprised? Now, I might have cause to be upset living near sunny Scunny.

:rotfl: I used to live at Haverfordwest and worked at RAF Brawdy so I feel your pain. It was the only place I've ever been where you could get 50mph wind coupled with fog. :D
