    Best guesses from Wattson:-
    11th. 0.16 O's
    12th. 0.24 O's
    Today from meter 3.2 O's....:)..coffee.gif
2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax: B)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

    Just under 3 Os.
I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".
  • Any bets on when the first genuine 5Os will show up?
I rekon; 1st Guess... 7th. March; 2nd one 24th. Feb. Just after my FIT reading goes in...:rotfl:..coffee.gif

Some of you may remember months ago I was asking for some advice on here regarding my Dad`s ongoing "PV 1 isolation Fault" problems.
Anyway, after the panels were "re-laid" they problem persisted and they`ve again been back to visit. for anyone that`s interested here is the response: -

"Our installers attended site on Friday 10th at 07:45. Upon checking the events list on the inverter it was found there was no existing isolation fault, a short while after sunrise the system energised and was fully operational. In order to carry out a thorough investigation the panels were doused with water to create an isolation fault. The strings of the PV array were tested and there was a slight discrepancy in the DC voltage readings. They proceeded to trace this on the DC circuit, however as the variance was so slim they were unable to pinpoint the exact location of the isolation fault. The overall system performance is within the MCS calculated estimated generation and any event listed on the inverter is clearing routinely, therefore we conclude the isolation fault comes down to tolerances that are at such low levels it is impossible to identify.

After our Installers visit I discussed things further with our supplier’s technical support and they advised the likely cause of the fault is due to higher levels of moisture associated with your coastal location therefore it is fair to assume this is a naturally occurring isolation fault. We discussed swapping the inverter with an alternative make or model, with different start-up parameters and operating ranges – this will increase the generation period of the inverter and may prevent reoccurrence isolation faults however there’s no guarantee it will eliminate it. I’ve attached the datasheets for your existing Inverter (Samil with 150V start-up) and an alternative with earlier start-up parameters (Solis with 120V start-up). There would be a cost associated with the Inverter swap over of £475 plus VAT, therefore it would be your call on whether you’d wish to proceed with this?

I’d advise you keep an eye on the system and if you do notice greater discrepancies please contact us immediately.

    Kind regards"

I have my own feelings towards this outcome but would like to know anyone else`s thoughts?
    Cheers.

  • Not sure what happened yesterday as I was in London all day but 3.2 O-O-O's - best day of the year so far. That comfortably dragged me up to 33% of my February forecast with only half the month gone - not holding out for target, especially as I'm sitting at 1 O today and the sun appears to have given in.
