1.125 O's here today...heading for the worst September...ever:eek:16 Sanyo Hit 250s.4kWp SMA 3.8kWp inverter. SW roof. 28° pitch. Minimal shade. Nov 2011 install. Hybrid car. Ripple Kirk Hill. N.E Lincs Coast.0

We've now had our installation running for one year (hooray).
It's an interesting installation (well, I think so anyway): 6kW split SE/SW but limited to 3.68kW grid output. Minor winter shading, but after a lot of research/calculations I concluded that in my case Solar Edge wasn't worth the extra outlay over a simple string inverter with full scan MPPT.
Predictions (kWh):
MCS: 4820
PVGIS: 5250
PVWatts: 5339
Sunny design: 5638*
(*Sunny design's prediction accounts for the 3.68kW cap and predicts 5786 without it. The others do not.)
So, how did it fare?
Actual (kwh): 5613
I'm quite happy with that
Maybe it was an unusually good year. Maybe panel degradation will eat away at that in the future. Either way, it's a good start.
I'd calculated that the capping should be relatively insignificant, but it's nice to see that work out in practice
(Once we reach the end of September I can post a side by side monthly comparison between each set of predictions and the actual values achieved if that would interest anyone.)0 -
Bit of a Cr*p day..1.16 O's.. On the good side..now down to £999.59p. as of today, before I get my investment back from PV; in less than 5 years. (excluding Lecci savings)...:rotfl:...2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).0 -

Hiya. Thanks for the post, and yes I'd be very interested in a side by side comparison.
Myself and others try to offer help and support to those considering PV, and everything I read (here and elsewhere) seems to suggest (or prove)) that capping in the UK is far less than a 'common sense guess' would suggest. But I find it hard to post that in case it's wrong and misleading.
Bit of guesswork, but if you have no shading, then PVGIS defaults are a bit pessimistic. Adding on 5%, brings it close to your generation, again suggesting there is little to no overall loss from the smaller inverter. Cool.
We may not have the best sunshine in the UK, but at least our weather allows for some work arounds.
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

need 7 O's for PVGIS September in next 3 days. Will be touch and go but today and Friday might edge it if forecast is to be believed.16 Panel (250W JASolar) 4kWp, facing 170 degrees, 40 degree slope, Solis Inverter. Installed 29/9/2015 - £4700 (Norfolk Solar Together Scheme); 9.6kWh US2000C Pylontech batteries + Solis Inverter installed 12/4/2022 Year target (PVGIS-CMSAF) = 3880kWh - Installer estimate 3452 kWh:Average over 6 years = 4400 :j0

Passed estimate for September. Did not think I was going to get there after the last 3 days and needed so little.
Need 50 kWh for next target of 10 MWh.
Thats the lot from me.3.795 kWp Solar PV System. Capital of the Wolds0 -

4.25 today. 2.75 needed - looking good for PVGIS now.16 Panel (250W JASolar) 4kWp, facing 170 degrees, 40 degree slope, Solis Inverter.
