When I had a saleman around trying to sell me a wortless PV+ Grid Monitor for £895 he mentioned the new Tesla Batteries. SolarEdge says that they will only allow 1 battery to be used with a SolarEdge inverter and thats a Tesla Paowerwall. They could give me a 7 kW battery for £4895.00 Way too expensive! It was my installers who phoned me. Not pushy at all. The guy that came round was very nice and was happy to provide the info.

Every company that phones me about PV I ask the companies name and ask for my name to be removed from their database. If that company contacts me again I say come round for a visit. The salesman turns up and I take them round the back of the house and sho them the roof, and say I asked your company to remove my name from your database and it did not thats why I have wasted your time.:D Its happened to 2 companies now. Not had a call about Solar Panels in over a month.

  • I had an email today with a link to a Tesla Powerwall installation from my installer (no prices no pushing sales etc)

You can view the installation and efficiency here

    Hi

Batteries are still a silly price, but I'd expect the situation to start to change later this year so keep your 'half an eye' on the product for the next couple of years, unless there's a support scheme announcement similat to FiTs.
Thanks Z, that's pretty much what I thought

As a pre-condition of any visit I'd insist that they disclose make, capacity & fully installed guide price else they would be unwelcomed - if not forthcoming I'd just hang up because they'll almost certainly be far too expensive, even at current prices ...
Yes, I asked if there was any info they could email over, or even give me a 'ballpark' price range, but they were insistent that they couldn't do that without an 'engineer' visiting to see what the most appropriate option would be for my system. I told them that if a visit was necessary, before I'd even had a chance to peruse any literature, then I wasn't interested.

I'd be pretty annoyed at receiving a call like this and would certainly request them to disclose the source database used for contact and what specific permission had be granted by myself for direct marketing on that database (DPA provisons may apply) - if not forthcoming certainly request that my details are deleted from their own database and have thm confirm that this would be done, it's usually pretty successful at convincing them to not call again, especially if the ICO is mentioned in passing ... If you're ex-directory, have you registered with TPS ? - If so, I'd certainly raise that with them also and have them confirm that they utilise TPS before cold-calling, mentioning in passing that the ICO was now issuing ~£80k fines for ignoring call preferences ....

Yes, but as always happens with this kind of call, they caught me at a bad time and I didn't think to ask all that until after I'd hung up :o
He did say where he'd got my details from but I can't remember now what he said, I do remember thinking that it wasn't anywhere I'd ever heard of.
If they ring back I'll be more 'on the ball'. And, yes, I am registered with TPS :)

I suspect they're not going to give up and disappear quietly, but next time I'll be better prepared ;)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

    We will too ;)

We don't actually use a landline phone so they are ringing us on our mobile. We have asked them to remove our details from their database but they have still rung several times now. The first time they actually put the phone down on us
