    What's to not like ?

I bought the £10 'caravan' kettle from Aldi mentioned here a couple of weeks ago and apart from being slower to boil than our usual kettle (1kW vs 3 kW : who would expect them to go at same speed ?) it's hard to choose between them.

Alas, not enough free lecky to benefit at 7am but at least my second coffee of day at 10am used free hot water (and cup got washed up free too)

:embarasse I know, why do you think I've stayed out of the discussions on travel kettles!

I have pondered it, but the kettle only gets used once or twice a day, for a single mug each time, and mainly around 6.30 to 7.30. Today's good, but on Sunday gen will be an hour behind again.

Excuses excuses ..... I shall flog myself with some birch twigs then do the dance of shame round the local park!

Gen still good, one of those exceptional blue sky days, that only happen a few times a year. The WNW was almost dead in the morning (no white to reflect light down), and the ESE is now very low, whilst the WNW is pumping away. 20kWh in the bag.

    Mart.

PS. Timed kettle today, took 45s, so approx 37.5Wh. 500 boils a year at 15p/kWh would be £2.81. I could save a lot of that in the GMT months, so perhaps £1 to £2 a year saving? M.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 28kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.
