does any one here use excel to keep a track on generation/consumption?.
If so could i have a copy of the template as i am not too familiar with excel although i do have it installed.

I have a question though. I have had my panels only three weeks but regularly go over 3.2kw so what can you achieve in the summer and will my solis 3.6 inverter max out at 3.6kw?.

Hiya ajbell. 3.2kW at this time of year is good. My panels are shallow and off south, so don't generate well at the moment.

Looking at the specs for the Solis 3.6kW inverters they say output of 3.6kW, but also have 4kW 'transient power', which I assume means short peaks.

In the summer your panels may be sitting in bright sunshine, warm temps, and little wind, so there will be a lot of heat drop off. You wouldn't sustain 90%+ for more than brief seconds between clouds, and may well see a 20% or 30% drop off during really clear sunny hot days. But day long generation will be great.

April and October are often the highest peaks, when the sun to panel angle is good, the sun is bright and skies clear, and the temp is cold. So that's when you might see the highest spikes, but obviously for shorter days.

Often new PV'ers get excited with early spring generation, and predict it forward to massive summer generation due to longer days, but higher temps take their toll, and the longer days are due to time added when the sun is rising in the NE and setting in the NW, during which times the panel angle is poor ....... but it still generates (and helps my system considerably). :D

I keep track using pvoutput.org Very good site which takes data from my SolarEdge invertor. (Will need to check if it supports Solis)
I can also use the SolarEdge monitoring site which provides good reports.

2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax: B)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

Don't have a total yet but had 3.2kwh by mid day so looking good.
Now for a question, can you have more than one energy monitor connected to your meter cable as I am thinking of buying one but already have an iboost connected.
While on the subject of the iboost buddy I have noticed in the morning that it registers a small export before the geo ii starts to register any generation?.
