I had three zero days in January 2013 ...
Same here - 20th, 21st & 23rd Jan'13 .... mind though, with our system being double the size, should our zero days logically be classified as being twice as bad ? ....

5.2kwh yesterday - bad times - that's 1.49 O's - worst day so far.0

1.60 Os yesterday 13th July but still better than 12th June when I was hardly above an O.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0

Wow, considering I'm not far from you I had 12kw on the 12th - 3.42 O's, I must have just been on the edge of whatever was over you.0 -

Sounds fair. I didn't want to waste £35 having my panels cleaned for no return, but every other year makes sense, as it doubles the benefit. :undecided

Mart.
What is the advice on cleaning? We can reach the lowest row from the flat roof and probably all the panels with a long handled cleaning thang. How often and how should we clean them?I think....0 -

I wouldn't bother. The rain seems to do it well enough, and I haven't seen a loss of performance in 4 years.
I did give mine a clean back in 2011 or 2012. Bought a cheap extendy thingy, cost £5.99 (top quality). Didn't make any difference. Then it occurred to me that pushing/pulling any grit around might affect the glass over time, if done often enough.
Recently 'we' were advised on another thread to spend £35 every other year for cleaning, as [STRIKE]a bloke down the pub said[/STRIKE] a cleaning company said it was worthwhile. This was part of an argument over the all in cost of PV generation. Suggesting £35, or £17.50, means spending about 5 to 10% of income (post subsidy) on cleaning ...... but if you don't get a 5 to 10% increase in generation then .......... why?
But following Zeup's joke, if £35 brings zero benefit, then £17.50 must be ok as it's twice the value!

I have cleaned mine when they looked particularly dusty (or maybe polleny) during a dry spell but I wouldn't pay someone else to do it. Being a bungalow makes it a bit easier.2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.0

My 10 metre ladder is coming out tomorrow as I have seen that half of my panels have Seagull Poop! on them and it looks dried on from down below. Will rig up something so I can use the jet was on them. Wife up another shorter ladder holding the jet was and extension cable.
Failing cleaning not working I have spoken to the installers and they are coming to turn over the panels as the otherside is clean. :rotfl:3.795 kWp Solar PV System. Capital of the Wolds0
