I also unplug everything...would turn the F/F off too, but Mrs l would not appreciate;)

Congratulations on your overnight "zero". Here it's Gadget-central. Apart from two freezer and a large larder fridge, and two mouse zappers there is a lot of equipment on standby. I can't impose a zero-tolerance regime but I will carry out a study.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0 -

I'm the same & a webserver & 2 raid storage arrays & 2 fish tanks. I've got it down as low as I can without major expense and / or giving up my hobbies. But why would I want to do that?!
Soon to be swapping my petrol consumption for electricity too. Not sure what impact that's going to have, but will be an interesting experiment all the same.
Anyway, not such a good day here today and a power cut this afternoon stopped the PV generation too.
Last 100w or so falling out of the sky at the moment, but day will end roughly on 4.5 O's (17.7 kWh).0 -
4.61 O's (18.35 kWh)
Passed 4 Mega Watts :j
Need 200 kWh from the rest of the month to make Est.
We turn off TV's etc at night unless recording. Drastically reduced evening use by changing 5 year old 50 inch Plasma TV to 55 inch LED claims to use only 87 kW per year!
Apart from 1 chest freezer, fridge freezer and stand up freezer the only things on at night are 2 radio alarm clocks. Chest freezer is about 10 years old but always full. Fridge and small freezer are both A+ rated.
Only replaced the 25 year old Zanussi freezer because it was like a little heater in the Kitchen with the electric it was using!
At night we are using around 160 W per hour.3.795 kWp Solar PV System. Capital of the Wolds0 -
The day finished at 2.9 Os.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0

Me thinks that your EnergyHive info illustrates your base line overnight better if you would care to post....
Thank you to 'Mart'; rubbish day today....3.76 O's cheers Mart.........

2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).0 -

EnergyHive Dashboard does not take into account what you have used from PV.
My E/H says I have used £15.37. yet only used £5.61 as of 15th of May(meter).2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.

Got 4+ Os, so not too bad.
Just been reading in New Scientist that California is 15yrs into a drought. 5 more and they get to call it a Megadrought. Shall I offer my services?
I'll just pop over and comment on how nice the weather is!
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.
For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.0 -
Was my 2ndPV anniversary yesterday. I was hoping to break the 5MWh mark, but alas I was a few units short at 4,956.9kWh at close of generation yesterday.
Anyway, nicely above official target and in line with PVGIS. Zero maintenance cost, zero problems and the Wattson monitoring has made us more aware of our usage more generallly too. Long term average of 50% of generated leccy used is about right due to other half being in several days per week and using dishwasher and WM on timers So a decent saving there too. I use Good Energy for gas, electricity and FiT and whilst they are slow at paying, they are consistently slow, so still get the money every 3 months.
Roll on the next 6 years, after which the system should have paid for itself. Then I'll replace the inverter when it goes with a new one and a load of batteries, which should cost about the same as a packet of cornflakes by thenMy PV system: South West England, 10x 250Wp Trina Solar panels, Fronius Inverter, South facing roof, 35° pitch with no shading.0
