Renewables: "talking 'bout my generation"

Got 15 + 8 yesterday, and 18 + 9 the day before. I think that's pretty good for time of year, location, size orientation etc. So Cardiff must have got a little better weather than average.
Also got second ENViR monitor set up yesterday, side by side with existing one. I was tipped off that the solid red on the new Elster TGM might not crash my Optismart, so I tried it for a few days and it was fine. Then total luck, logged onto 'that auction site' searched for 'Eon energy monitors' since they are mostly ENViR's given away free. Found one without a clamp and transmitter for sale. Got it for £6 inc p+p. New Opti was £28.
Having both monitors side by side was a surprise, we got 3kW from 10am right through to 3pm. Starting off 2.5kW E + 0.5kW W, slowly switching to 1.8 + 1.2. Then 2kW (0.5 + 1.5) till 5pm, and at 6.30 0.2kW + 1.1kW, which meant Olympics on the telly plus microwave cooking, and still a solid red on the import meter.
A week ago, during a very nice spell at mid day, the systems actually held 4kW (perhaps 4.2kW) from about 12 till 2pm.
I said a long time ago, that 5kWp spread over an east/west install, might actually be as useful as a 4kWp South install, if prices keep falling. Plus many houses have room for 2 to 2.5kWp, not so many for a full 4kWp. I'm still thinking the same.
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 28kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

Just get the key off, and wash it with hot water and try and clean off the bit that it sits on first....:money:Another good day here.

So much for the forecast - mostly sunny day and 9.57kWh. But tomorrow ... not looking good, hope they're wrong again! But that's basically it for now - very little sun forecast for the next 5 days.
2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.0 -
Dismal forecast for here too today. Thankfully, they were wrong again - quite a few sunny spells giving daily total of 12.93 kWh (fractionally below a pvgis typical August day).NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50

Thanks for the suggestion. Tried, but I'm afraid it was terminal:(Oscargrouch wrote: »Just get the key off, and wash it with hot water and try and clean off the bit that it sits on first....:money:
Never mind. Using my new one now!

Quarterly FIT reading taken at sundown yesterday.
Surprisingly, up almost 19% on same quarter last year :j (sure hasn't felt that way!
) and up just over 1% on comparable six month period, mid Feb - mid Aug.
Considering what a spectacular spring we had last year, I'm really surprised - pleased, but surprised
Overall, since installation, we're still over 20% above predicted figures - in fact, according to one of my spreadsheets, even if we don't generate another single kWh between now and the start of 2013, we'll still be 'on' prediction'! :rotfl:Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -
Well, 6.3 kWh today, 1st day this month lower than average PVGIS forecast,
91.1% of predicted Gen for the year.. and three months and 9 days to go. :j 2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
