Hi,
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
Going through a broker I was given an AIP, which I know to some is meaningless. Anyhow going through the process the bank have my pay slips, bank statements etc. They are now looking for an employers reference and letting agents reference. The letting agent will come back and say that the rent was late one month but no arrears over 1 year period. Will this stop me getting the mortgage?
I notice on my credit reoprt that after the initial search by Nationwide in feb for the mortgage they done another 'generic' search a couple of days ago, what is this for?
many thanks

You should be fine. I am in the middle of remortgaging to them and the 2nd search I guess is their underwriting team so hopefully a mortgage offer will be in place soon.
Have they already carried out the survey? I found it bit strange that after going into the branch and gave them my 3 months payslips they went behind my back and contacted my employer to check on me and how much I earn. First time I knew about it was when HR emailed me to sign a consent form0
