My friend bought a gas heater last year from a shop. she regularly buys calor gas refills from him however the last 2 have been faulty and leaking gas.
the first one was leaking so bad it made her and her dog really ill. after several phone calls to the supplier he finally came and replaced the gas bottle however this one is also leaking but he is not willing to refund her the money she paid for the bottle or take it back. where should she go from here? She contacted the fire service who said as it was a private matter they couldn't get involved, she told the guy she would report him to trading standards and he laughed at her saying they couldn't do anything. I am really concerned for her welfare and want to get this sorted asap but don't know where to go from here
Sorry if this is in the wrong place and please feel free to move it to the correct one but i have always had great advice from here before.
thanks in advance

Are you sure that it is the bottle that is leaking. It could be that her connector is leakingI can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
the guy was very wary when he picked up the first bottle not even wanting to start his car with it in the back so it's defo the bottleLBM apr 2008,£94,761  Mad Ebay challenge #71 £2000/£106.62DFD [STRIKE]DECEMBER 2024[/STRIKE] OCTOBER 20130

No. You don't kniow its 'defo' the bottle. Until you get a report from a competent and qualified person, you don't know what it is.
She needs to prove the fault is with the bottle, not the shop owner proving it is not.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -

Easiest way to check if it's regulator or bottle is to disconnect it (obviously) If the bottle is leaking, call Calor Gas0
