Hi,
My partner and I are currently buying a new build at the moment. We were declined by Halifax as they did not understand my partners wage structure, even after submitting lots of paperwork about it. We then went to Natwest who then undervalued the property by over 20k, which we could not persuade the builders to drop down to that price.
We then went with a different mortgage broker who lodged a complaint with Halifax as they gave us a mortgage in principal after having a look at the wage slips. He contacted a senior underwriter at Halifax who looked at the wage slips and said he does not understand why the application was turned down.
We are currently waiting for a decision by the senior underwriter. Does anyone have any experience with senior underwriters and the outcomes?
Thanks.
