If everyone else is happy with someone earning £200k+ a year and being an asset millionaire seeking advice then I guess I am too.
Sorry CK for the overreaction - no hard feelings!Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

And this is what this forum is for, whatever amount of money we have to juggle with each month.
Thanks CK for clarification. Have you looked at the Money Saving Old Style board? Lots of brilliant tips on there to help bring costs down.
Well done on cutting down on cigarettes - sadly my vice too!

Entitled to post regardless of income? Of course.
A little insensitive? Yes, I think so.
OP is not a new poster. You can glean huge amounts of information on trimming your SOA, particularly on this board just by lurking and reading. Many of us do this, and it is my belief that the OP has not learned anything on his thread that he could not already have read elsewhere.
Good luck to you OP.

I’m sorry but I believe the OP has been insensitive, even bordering on smug. Posting an SOA like that on a DFW board is what is known as being a BIG BLAW (a show off) in Scotland.
Many people on this board are desperate, close to the edge and feel inadequate enough without seeing this kind of SOA on here. Like others have said, I can’t believe someone this driven in his career and financially successful couldn’t work out where to cut back himself.
Whilst I wish you well in your life and professional success CK, you need to work on your life skills and learn where to apply some humility when appropriate. Your post is a severe error of judgement which I think you should recognise in private at least if not publicly.0 -

OP do you really drive 1600 miles a week??? And are you really 29?
Thank you!
Yes, I really am 29, have a company that’s around 2 years old and just about getting things to stabilise.
I got my car in September and it has 50186 miles, so it averages out at nearer 1900mi, however I haven’t actually had a rest yet this year, so the average will go down to about 13-1400mi/wk over the next 6 months, assuming 6 weeks off somewhere. And this is what this forum is for, whatever amount of money we have to juggle with each month.

I’ve found some nice recipes that I’m going to give a go at some point in the near future, and thanks for the constructive feedback amongst you.
What I didn’t realise (through not looking) is that things like pizza can be made for less than £1, for double the size of the supermarket ones. I’ve made some dough today, using bits out of the food cupboard, sprinkled puree/cheese/tomatoes on the top and just put in the oven; total cost 26p (T.Value puree), as the tomatoes and cheese would have gone in the bin tomorrow.
It’ll probably taste better than the ready made stuff, too, and my house smells lovely at the moment! That’s something that I wouldn’t have even thought of doing if it wasn’t for the old-style threads. I’ve got some more food that’s severely nearing the sell-by tomorrow, so will do some more cooking, again using the leftover dough for some 'Khinkali', mushrooms for some ‘Soko’ and the salmon I bought yesterday to make a fish dish of some sort. Again, the cost of a large evening meal (we’re feeding 12) stands at around £2 extra cost on what I would have spent, with an evening meal for 12 at around £18. £1.50 each + perhaps 6 bottles of wine (at £9 each, but had for a while) can’t be moaned at!
I love Georgian cooking, but don’t normally have time! I’ll post some of the recipies somewhere for anyone that’s curious.

Out of interest why didn't you mention the 2 properties abroad MF and the 4 BTLs and the upmarket bar your OH owns in the SOA?CKhalvashi wrote: »I’m 29 at the moment, and have always had a large put of money in some business or another (SoA on another thread). I’ve owned a taxi company, a cafe, a kebab shop and in the last few years, I’ve become more involved in music with the worlds first fee-paying record label. OH owns one of London’s Russian communities most exclusive bars (in W3), and we’ve got 4 BTL’s, all mortgaged.
Edit: The cab firm was started with less than £100, before I was old enough to drive.
I still drive a taxi every other Friday/Saturday night, not because I have to, but because I enjoy it. Company car now, (’53’ plate Peugeot 406) though, not owner-driver.
We own 3 properties (£600k-ish in UK, £300k-ish in my native Tbilisi and £500k-ish in the South of Spain) MF.
£220k-ish savings/investments, and 2 cars under a year old. :eek:0 -
this has got to be a windup!!!
