My folks are in a bit of trouble money wise and apart from the big stuff, I;m trying to get a list of little things they can do to get some extra cash:
Look at Utilities for a cheaper deal
Credit Card transfers
Sell on eBay
Food budget
Any other ideas guys?
We're looking at the mortgage etc, so bigger things are already being thought of... what's eBay like at the moment... it's been an age since I sold on there. Think we could make some money?
Thanks as always everyone!

Whether you can sell on eBay always depends on what you are selling and for what price. There are always buyers and prices achieved can still be quite amazing. However some items will not sell or achieve low prices for no apparent reason. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

If your parents buy to sell on Ebay then there are all sorts of implications however if they use it to offload stuff they no longer need/want then I suggest that as long as you get the P&P right, you can only make money.0

Cut down on unnecessary car use and walk or cycle instead
change lightbulbs to energy efficent
ensure all rooms not being used have lights switched off and appliances are turned off and not left on standby
when oven on make good use by cooking a few days meals at a time

:hello:Hi Lp, a few ideas I thought of that may or may not help depending on their circumstances.
Babysitting?
Dog walking
Ironing
cake making sell to friends an family?
repairing/mending clothes, taking a hem or zip up for others who cant or dont have time?
car boots- potting up seeds and selling seedlings popular at some car boots, I am aware some are too pressed for time to sow their own! Ur folks could do that and flog em, also flog old stuff, homemade cakes/jams etc at car boot, dunno if there are regulations but loads sell at our car boots
Odd jobs? gardening/fixing/cleaning for others? Cleaning companies charge USUALLY for a min of 2 hours, some dont need 2 hrs and find it hard to get someone to come for an hour.
really think of their strengths the things they are good at and then try to offer those services perhaps?
I am not sure whether there is a food co-op in your area,,here in cardiff we can buy fruit and veg, salad bags or stir fry in bags for £2.50 its from ruralregeneration.org I think, cant see any listed in england but maybe they are called something else?? Plenty of very cheap fruit and veg weekly !
hth and good luck folks ;-)Life happens when you are busy making other plans
