Hello :D

I have done my NSJ for today and tidied up all the gloves, scarves and hats after the winter. They are in a storage bag under the bed ready for the cold weather to return. However I'm not sure the best way to store my leather gloves. I have seven  pairs :o as I love them and they keep my hands so warm and last for ages but do I just shove them in the bag with the rest of the winter gear or do they need a bit more tlc? I find that they stick together slightly if not worn for a while so would keeping them in a pair of socks work? One glove in each sock? Or should I get the sewing machine out and make seven little two- pocket bags out of old t- shirts? :rotfl:

Off the top of my head, I would think the problem with leather gloves stems from the effect of body oils on the inside and grime on the outside. So a ruddy good clean and "moisturise" might be a good plan, before storing somewhere cool and dry and in a container that can breathe.

I just put mine singly in a drawer and find they're fine come the cold weather.

I roll mine like a pair of socks & they are always fine.

My gloves barley go away....i love leather gloves too. But, what i tend to do is put them on and give my gloves a massage with a leather drssing/balm i have left over from when i used to show horses (have loads of this stuff left) then the next day fold them into some non coloured tissue paper or soft cotton and pop them in a drawer. I would just wrap them like shoes...one in, fold, another in, fold....in your old t shirts.
  • Brilliant, thanks guys :D. I'll clean them all properly and wrap them in some white tissue I think, then will enjoy unwrapping them in the Autumn.

Great question, building with lego, I never even thought to make sure I was storing my gloves properly. Definitely going to log a few of these tips away, thanks! :D
