BlockRock group pensions: any experience?

Does anyone here have experience of employer pensions run by a company called BlackRock? Where I work now (Severn Trent Water) has chosen them to take over their group pension plan scheme, but I know very little about them.
I'd like to hear anyone's experiences please, good or bad. I'm thinking I may be better off with my appropriate personal plan (APP).

BlackRock are one of the biggest fund management groups in the world. In the last couple of years they bought Barclays Global Investors (BGI) to gain more of a foothold in the UK. They've started pushing group pension solutions in recent years for, usually, very low charges.
If your employer is going to pay into the Group Pension pension then you would be daft not to join, or remain in, the scheme.0
