When you eventually achieve Mortgage Freedom...

First of all congratulations to all those Mortgage Free Peeps out there!! :T

My question is what does everyone do with all their lovely extra cash each month? Book Dream Holidays? Do the house up? Buy a new car? Or simply put it away and save it for the future? :)

Or if you are still striving to be mortgage free what are your dreams when you eventually get there? :)

We are hoping to be MF in seven years (hoping it all goes to plan). We hope to be able to work a bit less (4 day weeks) and have a good lifestyle, nice holidays, both get new cars. The biggest reason is peace of mind, followed by not having to worry about the big bill every month and knowing you own the roof you live under!

Been MF for just over a year now have had a nice holiday to Mauritius and just spent £5k on having my garden landscaped. Got a bit in savings and it's the feeling that should I wish to change jobs to a lower Piaf one I can (getting fed up sometimes working away so much)

We paid our mortgage off 9 years early definitely worth it 100% found so much support and learned so many money saving tips and seven a lot by using this site.

Good choice it's lovely we stayed at the Belle Marge Plage very expensive for food and drink glad we were half board. We took a taxi to the local supermarket and stocked up as there was a mini bar.

I agree with Wymondham - give up crappy, stressful job, go self employed and have a better quality of life. Not interested in bigger houses or holidays :o

We should be MF between August and December 2013. Our priority is peace of mind, followed by making sure we give the kids a decent deposit for when they decided to buy and then holidays- lots of them!!!!
I aspire to be mortgage free by July 2014 :staradmin

I am hoping to be MF in 5 years and then save a bit more to buy a house near the coast somewhere in cash :) and then go self employed hopefully doing something from home so I can enjoy the views and take long walks with my new dog (that I will get) :)
I just feel living by the coast or the countryside is such a lovely and relaxing place to live. I hope I get there.
