There was an auction sale today of 153 UK properties at Barnard Marcus. This guy provided an update as the properties sold. Every now and again someone puts so much effort into a thread you just sit back and admire it:

On another level this is very interesting if anyone wants to know how properties do at auction - hopefully somewhere he has posted how many didn't meet reserve, how many sold over reserve and for those that sold over reserve how much they sold above it in percentage terms.

It also links to a thread on Luton:) .....just reading it now.....I'm sure it will all be positive about the old place.

Actually having read the thread it was fairly balanced about Luton. :T Lots of good folk live in Luton but they don't get the publicity.
Poster 25 hit the nail on the head. secondary schools. Combine Luton and Dunstable 250,000 people or so not one quality state school (e.g 75% of kids getting 5 GCSE inclu english and maths) and not even a private secondary school. That's the weakness of the town apart from that it's a smashing place.
