Just left hairdressers and been told if I poach any clients they will take legal action
If I am contacted by them is that classed as poaching?

No it isn't. And unless you had a written contract of employment with a specific clause (a 'restrictive covenant') preventing you from poaching clients within a reasonable distance and timescale, there is nothing they can do to stop you actively poaching clients anyway, and no legal action they could take. It is an empty threat.0

I would just check your contract first but as they are a small company I doubt they would have that in there. As the above person says, it's an empty threat.0

Agree with all the but the penultimate comment.
Even if there is no case to answer that doesnt prevent them from taking legal action or getting solicitors to send threatening letters etc. Vexatious legal action is becoming increasingly common0
