Claiming JSA

Just a quick question.....

Due to start maternity leave this friday, contract at work ends on 31st March. My employer is paying me stat maternity pay, which runs out the week of xmas. At this time i will need to claim JSA until I can get a new job, my question is.....

What documents do i need to provide to the job centre when doing this? How do I prove that I didn't leave my job, that my contract ended and they couldn't renew this (I work for a charity and the funding has ran out). I also want to make sure my employer gives me the correct documents e.g P45 etc

I know I am getting ahead of myself, but I like to be organised.

Thanks

Your employer should have confirmed in writing to you that they were not extending your contract and you can use this letter. If they have not done this then best to get your employer to create a letter for you now so you can use it later on. A couple of copies of the same letter would be good and then get it on email too.
